ARK Generators Is Your Local Authorized Generac Dealer
Generac is the most popular home standby generator brand in North America, and ARK Generators is proud to be an authorized Generac dealer, since 2006, serving the entire Greater Houston metro from our headquarters in Conroe, Texas. That authorization matters - it means we have direct access to Generac factory training, warranty service, parts, and promotional programs, and that every install we do is backed by Generac's factory support network.
The Generac Home Standby Lineup
Generac's residential home standby lineup is built for whole-home backup power with air-cooled engines, weather-rated enclosures, and clean integration with an automatic transfer switch. Available sizes include:
- Generac 18kW - mid-range popular choice
- Generac 22kW - the most-installed unit in the Houston area; good fit for average 2,500-3,500 sqft homes
- Generac 24kW - popular for homes with pools or extra loads
- Generac 26kW - for larger homes with heavier simultaneous load
- Generac 28kW - the largest air-cooled unit available, for homes with heavy simultaneous demand
For larger homes or commercial properties we also install Generac's liquid-cooled Protector series (22kW through 150kW+). See our commercial installation page for those.
Generac MobileLink Remote Monitoring
Every new Generac home standby unit includes the option for MobileLink Wi-Fi or cellular connectivity. Once set up, you can check your generator's status, run a manual exercise, read battery health, and get instant notifications of any faults - all from a free app on your phone. It is genuinely useful, particularly for absentee homeowners and for Texans who travel during hurricane season.
What Makes a Generac Install Different With ARK
Authorized Factory Training
Our installers and service technicians are trained directly through Generac's authorized dealer program. 10+ Factory trained technicians on staff. We spend over 200 hours per year in continuing education. That means we know the product at a level that most contractors/dealers cannot match.
Honest Sizing
Generac has a wide lineup, which means we can right-size your unit instead of forcing your home into whichever model we happen to have in stock. See our generator sizing page for how we do this.
Warranty Registration Handled
We register your new Generac unit with the factory on the day of install so warranty tracking is active from day one. See our warranty page for details on coverage.
In-Warranty Repair Direct
If anything fails under warranty, we handle the repair, parts ordering, and claim directly with Generac. You never have to ship a unit or chase a claim number.
Generac Promotional Programs
Generac regularly runs promotional programs on warranty extensions, financing, and limited-time pricing. As an authorized dealer, ARK can enroll qualified customers in whatever program is active. Ask us about current offers when you book your consultation.
Generac Generator Financing Options

ARK Generators offers Generac financing through Synchrony Bank, helping qualified Houston-area homeowners install dependable backup power without paying the entire project cost up front.
Depending on current programs and credit approval, available options may include promotional financing, reduced interest rates, fixed monthly payments, deferred-interest offers, and no-money-down plans.
Financing can cover an eligible complete Generac installation, including the generator, automatic transfer switch, electrical work, fuel connection, permitting, startup, and other approved project costs.
Financing should help you purchase the properly sized generator your home needs—not force you into a smaller unit based only on the initial price. ARK performs a real load calculation before recommending a Generac system. Learn more on our generator planning and sizing page.
Financing is subject to credit approval and lender terms. Rates, promotions, repayment periods, and program availability may change. ARK Generators does not originate credit.
Generac Generator FAQs
Every new Generac home standby unit we install supports MobileLink — Generac's free Wi-Fi or cellular monitoring system. Once activated, you can check generator status, run a manual exercise, view battery health, and get instant push notifications about any faults from your phone. We set it up at the time of install and walk you through the app before we leave the property.
An automatic standby generator is a permanently installed backup power system wired into your home's electrical panel through an automatic transfer switch. The moment the grid goes down, the generator detects the outage, starts itself within seconds, and powers your circuits without you lifting a finger. Both natural gas and propane fuel options are supported.
A standby unit runs whether you are home or away, starts automatically, and is permanently wired through a transfer switch so there are no extension cords to manage. It is also dramatically safer than a portable generator: no risk of carbon monoxide poisoning, no fuel hauling, and lower operating cost over the life of the unit. Portables are great for camping. Standbys are what protect a home or business.
Air-cooled units use a fan to dissipate engine heat and are the right choice for most residential installs (10kW through 26kW typically). Liquid-cooled units use a radiator like a car engine and are built for longer continuous run times, larger loads, or commercial applications. For a typical Greater Houston Area home, air-cooled is plenty. For a large estate, multi-building property, or commercial site, liquid-cooled is the answer. We'll spec the right one during your in-home consultation.
Aluminum enclosures resist rust and corrosion in a way steel cannot. That matters in Texas where humidity is constant, gulf air carries salt, and hurricane-driven rain saturates everything for days at a time. An aluminum-enclosed generator outlasts a steel-enclosed one in this climate by a meaningful margin, which is why we specify them on every install.
Yes. A standby generator is an engine, and like every engine it needs oil changes, filter changes, battery checks, and periodic inspections. We recommend annual maintenance for residential units and twice-yearly for commercial. ARK offers maintenance packages that handle all of this on a schedule so you do not have to track it.
Built-in overload protection trips the generator's internal circuit breaker if too much load is applied — so no, you cannot accidentally damage the unit by demanding too much from it. Where overload becomes a problem is when the unit is undersized for the home it is protecting, which is why we always do a real load calculation as part of every quote.
