Willis and the North Shore of Lake Conroe
Willis covers ZIP codes 77318 and 77378 along the northern shore of Lake Conroe. The area mixes established lake communities, rural properties, small subdivisions, and a growing number of newer developments as the Conroe metro pushes north. Many Willis homes are on acreage, have wells, and sit on longer driveways - which means bigger exposure to outages when a single line goes down.
ARK Generators is a short drive down Longmire Road from most of Willis, so we can usually respond same-day for service calls and emergency dispatch. We install whole-home standby generators and handle the licensed electrical work that comes with them.
Lake-Area Install Considerations
Flood Elevation and Shoreline Properties
Lake Conroe's shoreline properties sometimes face flood risk during heavy spring rains or releases from upstream. We carefully evaluate placement elevation to keep generators above any reasonable flood level.
Well Pumps and Septic Systems
Much of Willis is on private well water and septic. Any install we do prioritizes the well pump as a must-run circuit - losing water during a multi-day outage is unacceptable. For homes with effluent pumps or grinder pumps on the septic side, those get priority too.
Outbuildings and Barns
Willis properties often have workshops, barns, RV hookups, or detached garages. We can design the install to cover just the main house or extend backup power to outbuildings - your call.
Services for Willis Homeowners
Hurricane and Freeze Readiness on the North Shore
Lake Conroe's north shore has seen its share of major weather events - from Hurricane Beryl to the 2021 freeze to regular thunderstorm-driven outages. Willis homeowners who installed generators after Harvey, after Beryl, or after the freeze tell us the same thing: "I wish I had done this sooner." Read more about preparing on our hurricane preparedness and winter weather preparedness pages.
